'How has craft altered over the last century and where are we now?'
The Industrial Revolution in the early 19th century modernised production with the introduction of machines. The ability to manufacture on a large scale meant individual crafts people were spun into this web of machine operation. What they were producing was no longer bespoke, every item on the mass production belt looked exactly the same. Although the process was profitable, the joy of producing and the appreciation of unique designs were cast aside.
